Airline to Croatia wins award

An airline which flies to Croatia has been named as the third best in the world, despite only owning one aeroplane.

Palmair European, which owns a 34-year-old Boeing 737, has been ranked at the third best airline in the world, reports the Daily Mail.

The company flies to 14 destinations across Europe, including Croatia, from Bournemouth in the south of England.

Owned by Peter Bath since its foundation in 1957, the airline beat off competition from giants like Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.

For the first 49 years of the airline's existence Mr Bath, would be present to wave off all guests on every flight, with a team member continuing this since his death, reports the newspaper.

Included in the touches which won the company its third place accolade is putting fresh flowers on every flight and removing a row of seats to increase comfort for flyers.

Palmair offers hot meals each way and 20kg of baggage allowance for those flying to Croatia.
