British tennis team could be headed to Croatia

The Great Britain Davis Cup team are awaiting the draw for their World Group play-off, knowing an away-tie in Croatia is possible.

Great Britain are unseeded for the draw meaning they will play one of the top eight seeds in the September match-ups and it has been confirmed that a game against Croatia would be played there.

Britain also know that they will not face Serbia in the match-up as both of the sides have not been seeded.

It was a win against Croatia last year at Wimbledon which put Great Britain back into the World Group for the first time since 2003. After the tie Tim Henman announced his retirement from tennis. The draw will be made on Wednesday .

Tennis fans travelling to watch the game, should they be drawn together, might well want to stay over at a Croatian villa and one of the islands of Dalmatia may attract them.

A book called Mediterranean Islands recently named six Croatian islands among the 16 most beautiful Mediterranean resorts.
