Children given free Croatia holiday

Milan Bandic, the mayor of Zagreb, has welcomed a group of children to his town for a free vacation over the summer.
So far, 70 children have already made the trip to the city and are staying in a hostel at the expense of the mayor's office.
The new group will meet up with their classmates and friends and be the guests of Mr Bandic until August 21st when they will go back to their homes.
Boris Medvedev, deputy ambassador of Russia to Croatia, joined the mayor in welcoming the children to Croatia.
The children are all from Beslan in Russia and were tragically held hostage in a terrorist attack in 2004.
Zagreb is the capital and largest city in Croatia and has a population of around 1.1 million people.
The history of the city dates back as far as 1094 when it was founded by the Hungarian King Ladislaus.
