Coast and islands offer 'luxurious tourism and nightlife'
27 May 2008
Luxurious tourism and nightlife is emerging along the Adriatic coast and on the islands of Croatia, it is claimed.
Hvar and Brac are said to have joined "old favourites" like Opatija and Dubrovnik in attracting visitors to the country, according to an article on balkantravellers.com.
Designer hotels, spa centres and renovated stone houses are all said to make Croatia a "top destination".
Further up the coast, Sibenik is also recommended as a hotspot for party animals.
Two of its clubs are in the website's "most important clubs along Croatia's coast" list and it is claimed the city is now a "cult destination" for people who like to go "wild around Europe's nightclubs".
Croatia's Adriatic islands, including Hvar, were recently recommended by the author of the Footprint Croatian Handbook.
They offer everything from secluded beaches to 24-hour partying, Jane Foster said, with accommodation options ranging from boutique hotels to "back-to-basics" cottages.
