French tourists opt for Adriatic Coast
08 May 2008
French travellers are increasingly heading to Eastern European coastal resorts like those that can be found in Croatia, it has emerged.
The number of French tourists is multiplying across the region, with 50 per cent annual growth in some areas on the Croatian coast, Balkantravellers.com reports.
Such is the popularity of the country and surrounding areas that an article on the east Adriatic coast appeared in a French travel magazine this week.
The guide describes the whole coast as a "hidden treasure".
It also adds the region has some of Europe's "greatest variety of pristine, off-beaten track destinations".
The Croatian coastline is said to be luring property investors looking for a foreign second home.
Last week it was announced Eastern Airways is reopening its Norwich to Dubrovnik flight option for the third summer in a row.
It will extend where British travellers can fly from and ensure tourists will be within touching distance of the Adriatic coast from the arrival destination.
