Hvar island ideal for families
30 April 2008
The Croatian island of Hvar is popular with families all across Europe, in the summer months.
British people especially seem to enjoy the quieter atmosphere on the island where they can enjoy the town.
The island itself has a Mediterranean feel but still many signs of being a popular tourist destination.
Hotel Podstine on the island is a mix of lively and relaxed, according to Concierge.com.
The hotel is also close to the town, beach and other leisure facilities but also has a remote feel when necessary.
According to the New York Times, the hotel has a shaded dining terrace which is ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine.
Included in the sites of the island is the Venetian architecture, which is best found in Hvar town.
In addition to this holidaymakers can go further a field and explore Stari Grad on the northern side of the island or the small port of Jelsa on the southern coast.
