JAT Airways 'considers regular Serbia-Croatia air link'

Flights between Serbia and Croatia could be relaunched on a regular basis, it has been claimed.

The JAT Airways air link between Belgrade and Pula, in the south of Croatia, will initially fly twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays during the summer months until August 21st.

However, the airline has indicated the route could be added to its winter schedule and run more regularly if current interest levels remain.

Some 1,300 seats have already been sold, according to the website, with customers taking advantage of cheap flights due to the use of an ATR 72 aircraft.

The flights mark the first scheduled flight service between Serbia and Croatia since the early 1990s.

Up to 80 passengers can be seated in economy class, while journeys are anticipated to last 90 minutes.

Last week the Associated Press reported half of the tickets for the flights between Belgrade and Pula had been reserved.
