30 April 2008
Europe Holdings, a subsidiary of Lukoil, has finalised a deal to buy nine filling stations across Croatia.
The company has secured the deal which will see the filling stations in Zagreb and Split transfer to its ownership, reports Russia IC.
In addition, the deal includes five sites where filling stations could be built which Lukoil plans to supply from its oil-processing plants in Bulgaria and Romania.
A railroad petroleum terminal with a capacity of 8,000 cubic metres was also in the deal.
The new additions to the company group will be managed by Lukoil Croatia, which was created last year.
It was recently announced that a new oil pipeline between Romania, Serbia and Croatia is to be built.
The pipeline will have an estimated capacity of between 60 and 90 million tonnes of oil and will pass through the countries and into Italy.
Nebojsa Lemajic, chief executive officer of JP Transnafta, who signed the agreement in Bucharest on Serbia's behalf, said the move will make Croatia a more attractive country to visit.
