New flights between Croatia and UK unveiled
03 September 2008
A new air link to Dubrovnik from the UK has been announced by Jet2.com.
The route from Leeds Bradford to the city in the south of Croatia is set to help the airline in its aim to "expand and diversify" its services.
Further expansion of its flights and destinations has not been ruled out by the carrier, despite the addition of eight new links this summer alone.
Philip Meeson, chief executive of Jet2.com, said Dubrovnik-Leeds Bradford is an "exciting" new connection, particularly as it marks the company's first journey into Croatia.
He added: "With its Italian influences and miles of clean, sandy beaches, it is a destination which is fast becoming one of Europe's leading holiday hot spots."
A travel expert recently recommended British holidaymakers head to countries outside the eurozone like Croatia.
Stephen Smith, sales and marketing manager at West Side Village, a tourism complex in Eqypt, added Croatia is a perfect destination because it is within less than five hours flight time from the UK and cheap, regular journeys between the countries.
