New villas 'cater for Istria tourists'

Child-friendliness and tranquillity are among the qualities which could tempt tourists to the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, it claimed.

New luxury villas are also appearing in this "glorious" region, which features unspoilt coastline and mountains, according to the Independent.

The area is praised by Travel Weekly for its "pretty landscape," and notes Venice can be easily explored on a day trip.

In addition, a new webpage has been launched by Croatian Villas to alert travellers to the availability of villas throughout the Istria region.

The company states: "We are offering a wide selection of recently renovated Istrian stone villas with pools with good August and September availability, where guests can stay and at the same time enjoy what this region can offer."

For holidaymakers and locals alike, there are a range of activities and festivals taking place to cater for a variety of tastes in Istria this summer.

The Motovun Film Festival is underway and will run into August, while classical music performances can be enjoyed in Groznjan, Rovinj and Porec throughout the holiday season.

A round of golf can also be enjoyed on Brijuni island - claimed to be one of the most spectacular settings for a course in the Mediterranean.
