Osijek hosts Iranian week

North-eastern city Osijek is playing host to Croatia's Iranian cultural week, which will run until Saturday May 17th.
Sponsored by Iran's embassy office in Zagreb, a number of events are planned or underway, Mehr News reports.
A book fair is ongoing, with illustration exhibits to be held throughout the week and storytelling set to be staged on Saturday.
Iran's tourist attractions will be introduced during the cultural festivities, with an Iranology meeting entitled The Persian Gem to be held on Thursday, while Mystical Thought in the Persian Literature will take place in the city library on Friday.
Films are also to be screened at the city's Cinema Urania to showcase Iranian culture.
Osijek, on the Slovenian border, has a population of 114,616 and is the capital of Slawonia region.
It has architecture dating back 300 years and boasts the region's museum and art galleries as well as a "long and rich theatre tradition".
