Reduce mobile costs on Croatian holiday
02 July 2008
Holidaymakers planning a trip to Croatia this summer have been advised to shop around for international mobile phone deals to make sure they are getting the best package and do not come home to a hefty bill after their holiday, it has been reported.
People travelling to the popular tourist destination should also find out whether they will be charged extra for making calls from abroad, or if this is included in their bundle, Ofcom has advised.
Ofcom's chief executive, Ed Richards, commented: "Ofcom is encouraging industry to bring down the price of texts and downloading data when consumers are abroad."
Mr Richards explained this would help holidaymakers "get the best value for money when keeping in touch and downloading data whilst abroad and avoid unexpectedly high bills on their return".
In related news, Brits have said their perfect holiday destination is somewhere that offers sandy beaches, such as Split in Croatia.
