SPECTACULAR SLOVENIAN CHALET WITH OUTDOOR POOL
This beautiful Slovenian chalet with pool sleeping up to 10 persons is located in the village of Drobocnik two kilometres above the village of Most na Soci. As well as its attractive appeal from the outside and its stunning interior, the villa occupies a spectacular location perched on a plateau within the Soca Valley region from where guests can enjoy fabulous views of the Soca river valley and the Julian Alps. The villa has been lovingly restored and features exposed timber, beamed ceilings, antique furniture and ochre coloured paint tones and fabric which give the chalet a lovely warm, comfortable and inviting feel. A chef service is available on request at this property.
Guests approach the property via a 200m private track and down a small hill to a paved parking area. Entry into the farmhouse is through a front door into a hallway where, to the right, is an open plan formal dining room / country kitchen and to the left is a twin bedroom and adjoining wine cellar. Also on the ground floor is a WC, separate shower and utility room. A handcarved oak staircase leads to the first floor with three ensuite bedrooms: a twin bedroom, a queen sized double bedroom and a bedroom with two small doubles. Two bedrooms have baths and the last, the double room, has a jacuzzi bath.The top floor is fitted with a 200 year old parquet floor taken from an old palatial house in Ljubljana. On this floor is the fifth bedroom with kingsize double bed and jacuzzi bath. The rest of this floor comprises open plan living: a central bespoke open log fireplace, a huge sofa, TV with DVD and XBox, a fully fitted kitchen and dining area which also contains a baby grand piano. A door from the dining area leads out onto a balcony offering wonderful views of the valley. Finally, there is a WC with shower, accessed from the lounge area.
The outside/garden area located in front of the chalet contains a kidney shaped pool (open from 1st April – 1st October) with views over the valley. There is a path that goes around the extensive grounds and down to a cave. Fruit trees are numerous and include kiwis, walnuts, apples and pears. The grounds also feature a kitchen garden where guests can help themselves to herbs and vegetables. Activities nearby/within the region include walking, fishing, wine-tasting, paragliding, bird-watching, hunting, skiing at Kanin ski resort in Bovec or the ski resort at Cerkno (both 45 minutes away by car), and one hour from Vogel ski resort in Bohinj (via the car train in Most na Soci). A variety of watersports (rafting, hydro-speeding, kayaking and canoeing to name but a few) are also available. The property would suit a family/two families travelling together or a large group of friends looking to stay in a peaceful location.
